Hello. My 4 x Great Grandmother Ann(e) is in the 1851 census as having a birth place of Bloydon, Devon. She was at the time living in Steventon, Berkshire with her 2nd husband Jesse Gerring. Her first husband and my 4 x great grandfather was William Goddard who died in 1824 (Reading, Berks). I suspect that William was also from Devon and they moved together but I have never found a marriage record for them. My main question here, is where is Bloydon? I can't find anywhere with that name in Devon. The only other clue I have to where they may have been from is that Ann's daughter Miriam Pearce Goddard was mistakenly listed in a census as being born in Plymouth (she was born in Reading). Any ideas would be very welcome. Thanks :-)

There's a hamlet called Blagdon near Paignton, Devon. A William GODDARD (Mariner) OTP married Ann WILLIAMS at Plymouth St Andrews in 1817.
