David Drake of East /West Worlington

David Drake is listed as marrying Mary Battin 11 Dec 1767 and also Mary Greenslade in West Worlington 4 May 1779. David was baptised in 1754 in East Worlington, so would only have been 15 when he married Mary Battin, which does not make sense. His marriage to Mary Greenslade is more probable. If anyone has access to East and West Worlington records, could they please check to see if there was another David Drake who could have married Mary Battin? Apparently David and Mary had a son named Davy Drake who is my ancestor.

A 1754 baptism could mean that in 1767 he was only 13, not 15 - highly unlikely. There is a burial in 1830 which indicates that the 1754 baptism was correct.
A David DRAKE of Lapford was buried in West Worlington in 1789.

thank you. It seems there must have been more than one David Drake around at the same time which would explain the marriage to Mary Battin. The mystery goes on.

There is a David Drake son of Thomas Drake baptised 1754 East Worlington, who died 1830 buried November at West Worlington, listed as a farmer.
Also found a John Drake, baptised 1781 son of David, who married an Elizabeth, she died 22.4.1813 aged 32, wife of John Drake a farmerWest Worlington..
Family seems to go between the two parishes, looking at the contributors to the rebuilding of St Pauls, (Genuki West Worlington), a Gregory Drake listed (1678), so perhaps you will get back to him eventually!! Good luck.
