William Bray 1788 Chudleigh-1852 Newton Abbot (my 4x GGrandfather) was baptised in Chudleigh to parents Thomas and Mary. I cannot find any further records of these parents; can anyone help please?

I'm not sure if this will be any help but here goes! I did a search for children of Thomas and Mary christened within 5 miles of Chudleigh on Findmypast. There are 2 in Chudleigh, one of whom being the William you referred to, then there are several more children who follow on date-wise in the adjoining parish of Ideford. On the National Archive Discovery website I searched for 'Bray and Ideford' and there's a reference to a will abstract for Thomas Bray, Yeoman, in 1809. This is downloadable, and if you create an account with the National Archive, you can download it for free. It may give you some clues (or not!), but just a thought. Good luck with the detective work!
