Bellona Maude Smith

Looking for any information regarding Bellona Maude Smith who was born at Cook's Farm, Woodbury Salterton. She became a music teacher and then was the first County Music Adviser for Staffordshire. Next year is our 75th Anniversary of the music service in Staffordshire - is there anyone who has more details of the history of the family, of Maude herself?

Have you checked the 1939 register? She is shown as Belona N SMITH born 15 Jul 1906 , Teacher LLC, living in the Boundy household, Taunton, Somerset. The 1911 census shows that she came from a very large family - one of at least 11 children!

She was born in Woodbury, near Budleigh Salterton, her father a farmer, youngest of a total of 14 children, 3 had died by 1911.
She died in 1968 in Stafford.
