Still searching for William and Elizabeth Hutchins/Hutchings

The only proof positive I have is the Baptism record of my 3x Grt Grandfather John Hutchins/Hutchings. He was baptised in Combe Raleigh on the 11th Nov 1811 - parents names William Hutchins and Elizabeth. William is shown as a sojourner - John states he was born in Combe Raleigh on the census returns.

I also believe that William was still alive in Feb 1839 as he is shown as Father (Labourer) on John's marriage certificate to Mary Ann Ireland in the parish church of St Thomas... am I right in thinking that if he were deceased it would say so?

I've been searching since 2009, so I maybe need a fresh pair of eyes.

The only possible I've found s a marriage between William Hutchins and Elizabeth Hurwood in Burlescombe - 23/10/1803 - The notes on the parish entry state William Sojourner.

I tried to look at this in a different way. What other children were baptised to a William & Elizabeth HUTCH* between 1800 and 1820? There were 6 - one at Dunkeswell in 1805, 3 at Combe Raleigh between 1808 and 1811 and 2 at Luppitt in 1815. All feasibly from the same parents.
Then I looked for burials. A William HUTCHINS was buried at Luppitt in 1824 aged 48. A Betty HUTCHINS married in Luppitt late 1824. Perhaps try to trace the marriages of the other children to see if any clues are provided?

Thanks Deborah - I'll take a look at them all. I had completely missed the other Combe Raleigh baptisms.

Re: Father being shown as deceased on marriage certificate. This is not always the case, I have marriage certificates that do not state that the father is "deceased" but I know that the father is actually deceased.
