Born 12 Nov. 1868 at Tavistock (poss. Lifton or Milton Abbott). He was a son of Richard and Mary Murrin/Murrain/ et al.
Found him in 1871 (as Marain) and 1881 (as Murran) living with parents in Milton Abbott, In 1901 (as Murrain) at Dunsford, Devon with wife Bessie (nee Floyd married Sept. qtr.1894)and 4 children, In 1911 (Murrain) at Thurlstone, Penistone (Yorkshire)with wife, Bessie and 4 children and in 1939 (Murrain),with wife Bessie and 2 others (prob. lodgers) still in Yorkshire (where he died 3 April 1942).
Any help from others more "eagle eyed" than me would be appreciated
David
Thanks Judith

Hi Judith,
Thanks for your response, left accidentally on my posting about Frederick.
Bit annoyed that I didn't think about Wales. All my working life I was in the water industry and well versed in the history of moving labourer (navvies)travelling from one major civil engineering project to another, as scheme progressed.
Charles certainly ended up in Yorkshire as he moved there to work on the major dams - I think, given where he lived, the Derwent Valley Reservoirs, though I think from other clues, he was probably working on Burrator Reservoir as he married nearby in Horrabridge about the time that one was being built.
Checked Wales but didn't find anything for a Charles anywhere there.
Will continue my search from time to time to see is anything new turns up.
Thanks again, David

Pleased to have helped, you certainly know a lot about him anyway, so you may find more detail one day. Its like a big jigsaw, you just have to keep going back to it and sometimes you find a bit you missed!! good luck.
