I am a descendant of Philip Heaward and Elizxbeth Gill Heaward who were married in Wolborough in 1813. Philip was an Officer of Excise and they moved around England a lot. His father was also a Philip Heaward who was married to an Amy Bastow and then to a woman named Gribble from Cornwall. Always interested in knowing more about the Heaward family. Three of Philip and Elizabeth's children moved to the U.S. My gggrandmother to Utah and Idaho, one of her brothers moved to Maine, and one went to NY and died in the Civil War.

Whilst doing my family research I came across a Phillip Heawood, who may have been the son of your Phillip. In 1871 He lived in Woolbrough Street Newton Abbott. aged 40. with wife Ann, Children Clara Ann,William,Minnie,Phillip H, Edith M and Annie. He was a Provision Dealer. This may be of help to you. This Philip had dealings with my relative, who was horse trainer.

Thank you so much. I believe this Philip was the younger brother of my gggrandmother, Elizabeth. The name Philip was very popular in the family.
I need to try to see if any collateral cousins in England are in to genealogy. I may get hints there.
