Hello, I am an Australian researching my family history. Rolstone and spelling variants mostly from around Dartmoor area. Kenn, Kenton, Bridford, Ashton. anyone else researching this surnames?

Hi there,

My maternal grandparents were Rolstones. My Great Great Great Grandfather was called Samuel Rolstone and was born in Bridford in 1827 He was married to Jane Taverner in 1849. They had 5 children - Matilda, Susanna, Sarah, Fanny and Henry James Taverner Rolstone (my GG Grandfather). Don't know if this helps you, there were quite a few Rolstones in the area, but they may well have been related to the Rolstones you are looking for. Please feel free to contact me if you wish.

There are still Rolstone/Rollstone in the area. You could try putting a message on the Kenton Facebook page. I know it's worked for others!
