could anyone tell me where I could find my gt grandfathers William hodder mental health records
from he died in 1904 in an mental hospital so can anyone help me to find where I could get them from

A search on Ancestry, "UK, Lunacy Patients Admission Registers, 1846-1912", will give you the patients name, the asylum that they were admitted to, date of admission & the date of discharge or death. This is an index with images taken from the registers in series MH 94 held at The National Archives at Kew.

You need to know which hospital he was in and then you can search the Hospital Records Database to see if the records have survived and if so where they are.
