Looking for Parmenas Hambly father of Thomasin who married Roger Rowe at Lamerton 4.7.1737, think she was baptised Bodmin 1712, no fathers name given. Their daughter Jane born 1745 married Hugh Hambly 1769 at Coryton, so am thinking along the lines that he was a cousin/2nd cousin, but cant find his birth either!!! Have the will of a Parmenas Hambly who died 1756, after Thomasin had died, but no mention of his grandchildren, so think this is someone else. Any ideas please.

Hi Judith, Have you checked the Cornwall OPC (online Parish Clerk) database? The website address is www.cornwall-opc-database.org
You can search by first name, surname, event, with/without dates and parish names. I had a quick look but couldn't see a christening record for Thomasin in 1712 in Bodmin.
There are, however, 7 christening records for a Parmenas Hambly in Bodmin/Helland. They are all mid to late 18th Century; too late for yours I realise, but may provide a link back with such an uncommon name. Hope it will help!

Thankyou Paul. Yes have studied that. also tried various spellings, of Hambly and Parmenas!! Might have to arrange a trip to the Cornwall record office. another name I have found is Alexander Hambly a surveyor, who was deceased by 1737, who had a brother Joseph. Cant find them on cornwall baptisms. Will keep looking.Thankyou again.
