In 1864 my great great grandmother's brother, Robert Davey, was killed in an accident involving a horse and cart. He was working for the vicar of Coryton at the time. I have a copy of the inquest report. Several years ago my cousin was on a bellringing tour of West Devon churches and she recalls seeing a cart wheel displayed in one of the churches she visited and she was lead to believe that this was instrumental in Robert's death. She cannot now remember which church it was but is confident it was not Coryton. I have written to Coryton but received no reply. Robert was baptised in Coryton and I believe also buried there but in 1861 he was living in Bridestowe. Is there anyone with local knowledge who might be able to throw any light on this story?

There's a cartwheel in neighbouring Thrushelton Church - but that relates to the death of Valentine SPRY in 1788.https://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101105510-church-of-st-george-thrushelton#.W0pAKvZFx9A
