National archives site, if you put in spinstery it comes up with 3 mentions, I found it with Robert Raddon.

Maybe something to do with the spinning industry.

As the 3 records are held by Devon Archives and Local Studies Service (South West Heritage Trust) I would contact them and ask. Quote all the 3 references for these records when you contact them as they might need to look at the originals.

According to a transcription on Findmypast Robert Raddon was a Woolcomber in 1714. John Pook was apprenticed to Robert Raddon in 1714, Robert is shown on the transcription as the Master, the Parish is Okehampton
