Hi, I’m trying to find a photograph of my relative William Henry Symes, born 29 January 1899 in the Chudleigh/Bishopsteignton area of Devon, England.

He emigrated to Canada in 1924 aboard the RMS Montclare, arriving in Quebec and heading to Toronto for farm work. His nearest relatives in England were Charles Symes and wife at The Mills, Luton, Chudleigh.

I’ve managed to trace his immigration records through Library and Archives Canada, but despite years of searching I’ve never been able to find a photograph of him.

I’m wondering whether anyone connected to the Symes family in Devon or Ontario might recognise the name or possibly have old family photographs, albums, parish pictures, or documents that include him.

Even an unlabeled group photo or mention would mean a lot.
