I am wring a book about my pedigree from myself to the Bowerman's of Devon and the Bowerman's of the Isle of Wight. I have two brick walls I am trying to knock down. James Bowerman (d. 1547)of Hemyock was married to a merchant's daughter, Isabel Carvanyell/Carvonell/Carbonell (d.1574) of Taunton who at one time owned Thurlbeare. I think they were of Spanish extraction and am looking for the pedigree of the Carvanyell's. I'm also looking for evidence of children of Lawrence Bowerman and Katherine de Cardwell of Exeter. Lawrence was the second son of James and died without a will on the 4th Feb 1577.
