I think we need a bid more info, date of birth of George E Hulett, what was the name of the grandfather? am assuming it was his wifes father.
I found one possible marriage but it is a different spelling, a George Hewlett married Margaret Bowld in 1850 North Cotswolds registration area (Gloucestershire/Worcester borders?) she would have been about 18 in 1944.
How was George related to your father?
