Poor grandparents who appear to have enough children of their own to contend with without those being born to the 2 daughters..I suppose the workhouse was inevitable. I wonder if Rhoda and or Caroline/Catherine were able to work outside the workhouse in the day and the offspring looked after in a fashion in the workhouse in the meantime.
