There was a major cholera out brak in Plymouth in mid 19th century. Waterbourne disease spread when drains contaminated wells. I traced naval surgeon name of Primrose Lyon who was briefly a neighbour of my gg grandfather . lyon became a GP in Plymouth and along with several other GPs was made a freeman of the City for his services in the outbreak . Its so easy to get sidelined when tracing family history. My ancestor was an Ag labourer and I suspect Primrose Lyon was on Half pay from Navy living as cheaply as possible. 2128927 |
