From 1834 the workhouse would have been St Thomas. Records are at the Devon Heritage Centre Sowton.
Prior to 1834 about 25% of places in Devon had workhouses. Nearest to Exmouth was Bicton with 6 places or Otterton 20 places. The Parlamentary report of 1777 has details of all these Devon 18C workhouses
