I did look up a Masters family in Kingsbridge for someone but it was much later than your Ann born circa 1796. This Masters originated in Kingston so don't think connected. I think the reason Ann Masters stuck in my mind, if because I have a very distant connection with a Masters family living in Thurlestone. I notice that Ann actually married as Nancy and there is a baptism for a Nancy. I can only assume that because Nancy was considered a diminutive of Ann, various adjudicators would put Ann rather than Nancy.
I can only find one John Boys,Boyce,Boyes of the right age still alive on 1841 census, but could not find a death of one before that.
