The Excise entry papers surviving cover 1820 to 1870 so unfortunately no trace of him.
Also at Kew in the library rather than the search room is a shelf with volumes of Ham's. These were annual books showing where tax officials [mainly Customs]were stationed, as there is no record of him in CUST 116 it seems unlikely that he would appear in Ham's.
