Richard Craig, from Liverpool, enlisted in the Royal Navy in May 1816 and in August 1816 was serving on HMS Superb as an ordinary seaman during the battle of Algiers. His campaign medal was offered for sale by auction a few years ago. Between 1831-38 he was making allotments from his R N pay to his wife, Jane, and in 1851 her place of birth was given as Torpoint. HMS Superb was regularly in Plymouth waters between 1816/8.
Is there any other relevant information available for me to consider before I conclude I am/might be right and the record is wrong!?
