I have a copy of the book you mention. I have checked page 267 and there is an extract from The Herald Express, Torquay dated 14th August 1979. Four Wrens are referred to, Liz Tooley Hawkins, from Brixham,a third officer in the WRNS, Miss Nan Wales, from Hull, who was a second officer, Miss Helen Coop, from Liverpool, a leading Wren and Mrs Janet Swanson, from The Wirral who was also a leading Wren.
They all served under Captain Gilbert Roberts of Torquay at the Western Approaches Tactical Unit in 1942 and 1943, where plans were evolved to beat the U-boat menance then threatening the Atantic convoy lifeline.
I regret to say there is no photograph displayed on the page.
