I am researching the De Niceville family, who came from France at the end of the 18th century. Stanislaus De Niceville married a Sarah, probably about 1812, and they had several children,and grandchildren, one of whom, Alexander Augustus Stanislaus De Niceville, was an artist/photographer who was based in Exeter in the 1850's. Another was Charles Lionel Augustus De Niceville who studied the butterflies of India and published his work in 3 volumes, and died in Calcutta in 1901.
