At the time of his marriage Jacob declared his occupation as "musician" and it struck me that he might have been travelling with a band. Is there any record/evidence that a German/Bavarian band was in South Devon 1883-1885? In 1887 Adam Langwasser, almost certainly Jacob's cousin, was one of a large group of musicians from Germany who landed in USA.
