Judith - I had already looked at these two - Mary Jane BALE is the mother. James HARRIS the husband, had a father also James who married for the second time to an Emily BARNES in 1860. They baptised several children at Chittlehampton including a Thomas William Barnes born in 1863 but not baptised until HARRIS in 1865!!! At first I thought - cracked it, but then realised said Thomas W is still around in Chittlehampton in 1901 and 1911. I think that another brother ran away for some misdemeanour and changed his name - maybe something to do with the death of Albion in 1886 - he fell off a cliff.
