Albion Bale HARRIS was baptised at (Awliscombe - 2.5 miles from Honiton) in 1878 but the vicar made notes in the margin that he along with brother Alfred James were 4 or 5 years old. This ties in with a birth registration of 1873. Parents were James & Mary Jane. (father a bailiff). It could be that your Thomas was born elsewhere but remembered the Honiton area as where he grew up. However, the 1881 census for Awliscombe shows the parents with 3 children - William, Albion & Alfred. In 1871, James didn't marry Mary J. BALE until the December qtr so where does your Thomas fit in?
