I've been way out of the loop with regards to MAIS basketball and who is doing what. I did see where Simpson's boys are looking sharp but other than that I have no inkling of who are the favorites to contend for s state title.
Can some folks give me some insight?

Darron, nobody is going to beat Simpson boys. If they stay focused, they will take another title back to Simpson County. MRA boys are in the same boat as Simpson. I can't shed light on Class AA and Class A. For girls, again, I can't say who will win Class A and Class AA. Although, I will say Oak Hill girls will put up a fight. Class AAA is an interesting division because Leake appears to be the overwhelming 30 point favorite, but Kirk is one of the three teams to beat the Rebelettes this season. And I feel like Bowling Green has quietly gone under the radar, but I think they are happy where they are. "Let Kirk and Leake have the spot light. We'll sneak up in the end." BG has a legendary coach who knows how to win. Class AAAA girls is Jackson Academy's to lose. JA and Leake will close out regular season play in the Radier Dome. That will be a great game to take in and will be a good measuring tool for what Class AAA and Class's AAAA will look like in the end. It's going to be a fun next few weeks. Buckle up, folks.

I could be wrong but I thought BGs girls coach left after last season. Is that correct?

Yes but their current coach is a legend in the AAU world.
