I'm renovating an old apartment, tearing everything down to the bare walls. Should I completely cut out the old metal fittings and pipes under the bathtub and sink and replace them with PVC if they still look OK on the outside, or should I leave the parts deep in the walls alone to avoid triggering an air leak in the main riser?
