1) Please be advised that the State Vet of Iowa has power and control to make all decisions in terms of a legal health paper and valid CVI wording and testing. Be very certain that all Blood work is done on May 10 and after and that all pigs are tested negative for PRV and brucellosis. Additonally, all needed statements are clearly and accurately printed on each CVI
2) All CVI must be written and animals inspected May 24, 2019 and after. No exceptions. Failure to adhere to this policy, may result in rejection of your entries in Des Moines, not by us but by the State of Iowa.
3) If you are hauling pigs that have been sold or in transit, it is necessary that they to (if on same trailer and entering the fairgrounds), be under the exact same protocol as those being exhibited. Failure to meet these requirements, again may mean rejection of all hogs on that trailer.
4)If you have CPS breeds open entries, we desperately need your ear notches, registration numbers and stress test results (when applicable) supplied to the CPS office now.The date we asked for them was Wednesday May 22. This allows staff to have pen cards already completed and ease of check in much quicker and faster. Your compliance is greatly appreciated. Please refer to your exhibitor letter sent a few days ago. Hopefully, this answers all of your questions.
We are short staffed right now and Technology is not necessarily our strong suit, so please share this message via word of mouth, social media or a phone call to your fellow exhibitors.
Please do not hesitate to call the office at 309-691-0151 or me personally at 309-945-3312 with any questions.
Safe travels, have a safe and great Memorial Day and Congratulations to any of you High School or College Graduates.
Sincerely, Jack Wall
