Hereford Breed to Compete at 2019 Iowa State Fair

The CPS office has just received official word that the Hereford Breed will be conducting an open show Boar and Gilt show at the 2019 Iowa State Fair in Des Moines in 2019. It has been over a decade that this breed last was exhibited in the Open Division, but due to the hard work of several individuals, we are pleased to announce they will be exhibited in 2019 on CPS Day(I would expect it to be Thursday August 15) Congratulations Iowa breeders for making the early commitment to attempt to exhibit and making this a long term successful venture. A reminder that Hereford hogs shown in the Jr. Show the preceding week are not eligible to return to this open show. Thanks to the Iowa State Fair executives and Swine crew for working with Iowa Breeders making this happen. See ya in Des Moines with your Hereford hat on.
