To be totally clear here I did NOT suggest pulling papers on Carrier animals at this point. They have too much to offer and Assoc could not afford losing Breeders or recording revenue such a move would make at this point. I'd hope someone could tell me how many POS animals were registered in each of the CPS breeds. I seriously would be surprised if it were more than 5 percent probably less. No one makes POS x POS crosses. Even POS x Carrier mating would yield only 25 per cent POS and I doubt there are many at all of those. I know of only one POS boar available by stud and think he is now retired.
From public relations standpoint this would be huge win for CPS. From a pork quality standpoint another huge win. From standpoint of interbreed competition there would be no difference. From Association revenue stand point I don't think it would even be a blip on radar, might even pick up new members.
