Re: Breed Purity
As a student with a degree in Animal Science at ISU I had the privilage of not only working with but taking a single course in Animal Breeding from Dr. Hazel who to this day I consider arguably one of the most brilliant minds in the inheritance of animal genetics the industry has ever known. With all due respect for Dr Mote's expertise on the subject his knowledge of inheritance and that of myself and I suspect most other breeders are light years apart. Most of us are limited to what I call "eye ball genetics". After reading his very thorough explanation, does anyone else's head just hurt? Maybe its just time to get back to old world genetics as my father and his father before him once knew it
