Greetings from somewhere in iowa on the way back from nbs.....I'm hoping that one of the new trends I saw in the market hog shows in Austin isn't about to become the new thing....was really shocked at the utter lack of bone and foot...now I realize that as the old saying goes you can't eat a bone sandwhich but geeze...fine you don't need tree trunks on barrows but I don't think we want sticks either....far too many fine Boned ones out there
And another thing....judges ....if we want to change the trend of what you're looking for could you let people know before we kick ourselves ffitting pigs only to get to a show and find out you all have collectively changed your minds on what you want and only the heasy hitters are in on the secret
That's my rant.......for now
I guess I hope that when you're breeding I hope we don't go backwards...yes we got them to moderate and..unfortunately ....too fat....but that doesn't mean we have to completely dial it away from width and depth and foot size
Btw....85 degrees coming home and I am ready for cooler fall weather....happy harvest everyone
