Ray Hanania, former City Hall reporter for the Daily Southtown and Sun Times, is looking for a radio home for his weekly podcast Two Guys on Politics.
Hanania does the program with William O. Lipinski, former Southwest Side congressman and alderman. They describe themselves as Reagan Democrats and frequently poke barbs at both parties.
The program is broadcast on WNZK in Detroit. On this week’s show, Hanania stated if he can find a sponsor it would bring the program to Chicago airwaves.
If memory serves me correctly, he had an early Sunday morning show in the 80s on the Loop. Hanania, back in the day, was threatened with a punch in the nose by Jay McMullen, husband of Mayor Jane Byrne. McMullen was angered by critical comments of the mayor written by Hanania.
After I posted the above comment I found an article about him in the winter 1991 issue of Chicago radio. There are also some other good articles in the issue of long gone Chicago radio folks.
