While scrolling through some topics from February of last year I came across a discussion of WXES (1110 AM). I was unaware of that station until I looked it up and saw it was the original WMBI. Apparently it was sold a few years back and now is a Spanish language Christian station.

It has a solid signal in Chicagoland, but I was surprised as a daytimer that anyone bought it. I am kind of curious how many actual listeners tune in.

Totally a solid signal. Took a while to sell and they did not get what they wanted for it, but they needed/wanted it out of their portfolio.
If that thing had a night signal, it would be a top notch AM signal, toward the upper end of the band too.
I guess it serves its purpose for the owners. Doesn't it repeat the 101.5 translator? I might be confused. Or is that only on WCKL-HD4?

The owner of WXES used to lease most of the day on WNDZ. That was before WSFI. El Sembrador. It's Spanish Catholic.
101.5 relays WCKL HD4, Radio Nueva Vida. Radio Nueva Vida is a Spanish Christian network that was just bought out by EMF. They ran the network on several of their signals over the years. It's based in California.
