While looking something up I came across dealstream.com and saw the below listed:

BRAND NEW - 2 FM Metro Signals covering 3.5 million pop count in the nation’s 3rd largest market- broadcasting from Trump Tower ( proposed) and from the premier western suburbs—this combination is being offered for the first time at the very realistic price of $2,600,000 by RadioForSale,LLC. (Negotiable--make an offer) The ADDED BONUS- these FM Metro Signals come with their own AM facilities, so NO expensive HD channel needs to be leased…resulting in savings of up to $10,000 a month! SELLER FINANCING with a low down payment

Maybe a couple of us could kick in together?

ADMIN NOTE: Edited thread, for corrected subject.

Those are WCKG AM 1530 & W272DQ 102.3FM, WBIG AM 1280 & W288EA 105.5FM. Arthur and Matt Dubiel own them. Been trying to sell them for a while.

102.3 is challenged but it has become a better signal over the years. 105.5 is a good local Aurora signal. The AM is legendary in the area.

Funny, we were just talking about them last week.

Aaahhh, what must Joe Gentile be thinking (WJJG 1530 AM) up there. It has to be about ten years since his widow sold the station.

I know a guy who was a producer there. The morning guy, whose name I forget, was out. When he returned the young producer told him some guy named Chet Coppock called. The host could not believe the young guy never heard of Chet. I told the producer about Chet and his history of pro wrestling, roller derby and making a bet to roll a peanut with his nose down Michigan ave. Told him Chet hosted a nightly show, Sports Spotlight on the new WSNS channel 44 and did sports on channel 5. He was not impressed.

Anyway, a week later Chet was in studio. The producer got me an autographed copy of his book. Wonder if I still have it?

Just remembered. Host was Geoff Pinkus.

What ever happened to him?

Not sure if anyone remembers, but Coppock was also an off-camera news reader at WFLD in the early ‘70s—way before they had a full newscast. If I recall correctly, he read headlines about five minutes while they displayed a static slide.

Both translators operate at 102.3 and the Aurora translator has been renamed to W272EP-FM.

When a tree falls in the forest. I mean when did this happen? Is 102.3 Aurora WBIG or WCKG programming?

Seems pretty expensive since He only paid $50,000 for 1280 and it's translator.

He paid $290,000 for WJJG in 2013 from the widow of Joe Gentile. Joe paid $700,000 for the station in 1994. Back then I think the station was called WKDC for Will, Kane, Dupage, Cook counties.
