Was wondering who would be followers here their favorite d j of all time. Mine would be Allan Stagg. I worked midnights and listened to Sanctuary, which was great music. I would on occasion call him between records and we would chat for a bit. Always found him.to be pleasant.
My favorite radio personality was Jay Marvin. Loved his program on both sides of WLS,especially his second time aeound.

You can find a few parts of "Sanctuary" with the late, great Allan Stagg as host on YouTube.
What made "Sanctuary" stand out were the various sound bites from classic TV shows & movies, along with various sound effects like feet, a rooster & a spaceship to name a few. "Sanctuary" was a re-creation of how progressive FM rock radio sounded over 25 years ago. Perhaps even longer than CD 94.7's Classic Rock format.
In an era where corporate cutbacks at various radio stations have all but eliminated overnight shifts over the last 30 years, long before the pandemic, Stagg's old overnight show had a cult following among third shifters.
It's the kind of unique radio that's long gone now.
