Without revealing my own age, I grew up watching the likes of Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Sylvester & Tweety, Elmer Fudd & other Warner Bros. cartoons like so many others. I also grew up watching cartoons with Tom & Jerry, Droopy Dog, Barney Bear, Woody Woodpecker, Chilly Willy, etc.
All of these classic cartoon characters found a new home last year on MeTV Toons, a spinoff channel from MeTV's parent company Weigel Broadcasting & Warner Bros. Discovery, owner of Cartoon Network & sister channel Boomerang.
Effective today, MeTV Toons is NOW available for DIRECTV subscribers everywhere. Viewers can find MeTV Toons on DIRECTV 295 as well as streaming.
Comments from Weigel Broadcasting Vice Chairman Neal Sabin & DIRECTV Senior V.P. of Content & Programming Linda Burakoff regarding MeTV Toons' addition to DIRECTV's lineup can be found here:
I think you mean Snagglepuss, and they do. The character debuted on "The Quick Draw McGraw Show" in the early "Funtastic" years of Hanna-Barbera's iconic cartoon studio in 1959. Voiced by the late, great Daws Butler.
In regards to my misspelling, as he himself would say, "Heavens to Murgatroyd!" I read somewhere there may be a Snapplepuss film in the works. Not sure how it would go over today. I would see it, but then again, I also saw the Mr. Peabody, Astroboy and Rocky and Bullwinkle cartoon remakes.
I will end with Snagglepuss' most famous quotation, "Exit, stage left."
