I'm noticing WLIT-FM has lost a little ground due to a possible tweak in their music. Would it be possible for those who don't care for newer music to have migrated to Me-TV-FM 87.7? WLIT-FM 5.7 to 5.4 WRME-LD 2.4 to 3.0
WDRV-FM 97.1 has a lock on the classic rock format in Chicago. Two months at a 5.3 rating.
WXRT-FM 93.1 up from 4.2 to 4.4.
WBBM-AM steady at 4.8 which is a huge drop from two months ago when they held a 6.1.
WKSC-FM 103.5 drops to 2.9. This station continues to drop over the last four surveys. A bad crop of music? A loss of interest in radio in general and or FM music in the CHR format?
WBBM-FM 96.3 does not appear to have any real traction. They just hired a new afternoon host. 1.8 to 2.0.
WCHI-FM 95.5 drops to 2.0 from 2.2. It's only a matter of time until iHeart blows up this failing format and replaces it. Clearly, Chicago does not agree with their slogan, "Chicago's Rock Station." What may have been keeping them going is selling the iHeart stations cluster to ad buyers.
Slightly off topic. When it comes to independent TV stations, buying reruns of a HOT show usually meant being forced to buy reruns of a companion show which was not as popular. It was a package deal. Today, you have many cable networks who program TV series from the 1960s up through the 1990s. This includes Netflix, Amazon, TBS, etc.
WUSN-FM 99.5 with their country format has really taken off with 4.3 to 4.6.
Summer is here and some PPM devices are on vacation with the people they're assigned to.
WBBM News is still #1 6+ @ 5.6 share. They have 0.8 streaming rating which is not included with the 780AM/105.9FM numbers.
The country format has totally changed through the years. Listening to Jelly Roll is listening to pop rock with some twang instruments thrown in. It is shameful how every musical style and format needs to sound hip hop/pop these days.
B96 and Jams are scraping.
100.3 has been trending up and is hitting some target demos. I think they are eating into WLS and WLIT's numbers.
95.5? Ya know numbers like those and B96 and Jams, etc, years ago would be call for action. If they are running it on the cheap and the bean counters are ok with it, who knows if there will be a format change. Insanity!
