"Audacy Chicago boss Kevin Cassidy says The Score is positioned to emerge from turbulence"
“The brand is strong enough to absolutely survive and thrive, to be honest with you,” said Cassidy, who was promoted in December 2023 after serving as market manager for Audacy’s New Orleans stations for six years.

I wonder how their ratings compare today from when they first started? With so much sports and sports talk on cable 24/7 do they have the same following.

DetectiveTom, you are correct. Even Cassidy admitted it in the article that the audience is different. Time has passed, generational change, sports attitudes change, different consumption habits. But, like my last post, The Score is legendary and they can work off that heritage factor for a long time coming.

Kevin Cassidy has been in charge of Audacy’s six Chicago radio stations for just over 18 months. In that span, one station has required more attention than the others.
You mean B96? SMH.
All six stations — The Score, 93XRT, B96, US99, 104.3 Jams and WBBM Newsradio — are profitable, whereas Audacy emerged from bankruptcy in January.
The "heritage" factor wears off after a while when stations do not perform with advertisers. For B96, it is coming. There is so much you can do to cut expenses and run it on the cheap, unless you go lockless, phone it in from elsewhere or go all AI.
