I suppose Audacy will change 104.3 JAMS to a Score Simulcast sooner than later. They are happy to not tweak ir expand the very limited Playlist. I would be surprised if BMX lasted until the end of this year. There's still the chance of the format moving to B96, but Audacy now can justify flipping 104.3 to a Score simulcast.
Hi WKDI, I think B96 is the endangered one. While B96 is heritage it costs more to run and the younger demos have dried away from terrestrial radio. Demos are older on Jams and a Classic Hits category format which is still desired. They can still tweak it a few times to keep it going. Radio is one big sad state of affairs overall.
Z In my prior post, I did mention the possibility of the JAMS format moving to B96. That way the older democrats is kept along with the heritage branding of B96. While anything is possible, I still think 104.3 will be the new Score FM home as it's already there on HD2.
Hi Hunter, Sports had a strong month in Chicago. I could see a sharing of audience, but that is a large drop for a News outlet. Nut, but.... News WBBM is at a 5.8 & #1 6+, while the SCORE is at a 3.6 when adding in their streaming numbers.
Looks like EMF is paying for ratings again (or the ratings service made a mistake posting them publically). Tall story they are at a 1.7, 0.1 from B96 and beating out WLS-AM, WVIV, Power 92.
Adams Radio Group is showing too. Solid 1 share for WLJE, beating out The FREE-FM simulcast. While their signals do not overlap, it indicates WLJE has the market for the format, while FREE-FM on 102.3 might not be the best fit. Hope it at least looks good on paper for Alpha media.
If this was 1987 or even 1997, Jams and especially B96 would be gone before I can click POST IT! It is a sad state of affairs as I mentioned in another post. The younger demos have mass exited terrestrial radio. One generation gone that won't grow up with it, endangering the whole medium. In a lot of markets, CHR average age is north of 40 or even 50 years old, why you hear a lot of gold and less new titles.
Smaller market, (Rockford) but WZOK who has been CHR forever, is airing some 25 year old songs in the mix. Much older gold than previously would have been in that format in years past.

Very correct. It is the gentrification of CHR. Also, being a smaller market, they are treading on less competition or going after the competition, because you can't bill big in a smaller market running a CHR. It has to be friendly enough to be played in businesses and offices alike.
