From running a hot dog stand to becoming one of the first voices of The SCORE when they were up the dial at 820 AM as a "sunrise to sunset" sports talker in 1992, Mike North has made quite an impact in a career spanning over 30 years.
North was a SCORE fixture from its 1992 debut at 820 AM as midday co-host with Dan Jiggetts to 2008 when his contract at WSCR's current home at 670 AM expired. Since he left WSCR, he's worked at FOX Sports Radio as well as The SCORE's sports talk rival ESPN 1000.
I bring all this up because the sports talk radio host aptly nicknamed "Pappy" will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at the BSM Summit here in Chicago May 9. He'll become the 4th such recipient of this award. That's the word from Barrett Media's Jason Barrett.
