As soon as Brent Musburger said those words from the CBS Broadcast Center in New York, you knew "The NFL Today" was starting and "The NFL on CBS" wasn't far behind.
It was the Gold standard of NFL pregame shows long before "Sunday NFL Countdown" on ESPN, "FOX NFL Sunday" & NBC's "Football Night in America" before "Sunday Night Football".
Musburger has had quite a career after his dismissal from CBS Sports in 1990. A fixture on ESPN/ABC for about 25 years with College Football, College Basketball & NBA.
Most recently, Musburger started up the Vegas Sports & Information Network, better known as VSIN. Programming airs locally on Marquee Sports Network.
This is quite an honor for Musburger. This sports fan is proud of him. It's a long overdue honor, too.
