Listeners to 94.7 WLS-FM over the last 4 years have heard him spinning "Chicago's Classic Hits". For longer than that, Tim Virgin was a fixture on Chicago rock radio hosting shows at Q101 & at the former 97.9 The LOOP in afternoon drive dating back to 2014. Now, Virgin is leaving Chicago completely.
It was revealed today that Virgin will soon host afternoon drive at KSHE-FM, the Classic Rock station in St. Louis branded as KSHE 95.
KSHE, which is owned by Hubbard Radio, will also add the syndicated "Alice's Attic With Alice Cooper" nighttime radio show to its lineup. "Alice's Attic" already airs locally on 97.1 FM The Drive as well as KSLX-FM in Phoenix, KSHE's Classic Rock sister stations in the Hubbard family.
Virgin signs on afternoons & "Alice's Attic" join the KSHE lineup Monday.
Comments from Virgin & Brand Manager Marty Linck regarding his upcoming move to St. Louis can be found here:
I don't know if it's truly voice tracking as much as being familiar with the St. Louis market given his roots long before coming here. I get the sense Tim Virgin is going back to where it all began for him in radio some 30 years ago.
