Ken Zyer, who had a friendly and recognizable voice in the Kankakee area for decades, passed at 66 on Saturday after a short illness. Ken’s voice graced the airwaves of various Milner Media stations, including 99.9 WBYG Kankakee, which morphed into WBSW and WBUS “The Bus”, where people in the South and Southwest suburbs would have heard him on the 50,000 watt station. Ken migrated to sister station 95.1 WVLI Kankakee “The Valley” which moved down the dial to 92.7 a couple decades ago. At times, he could be heard on the news segments for the whole cluster of 92.7 WVLI, 95.1 WFAV, 101.7 WIVR and 103.7 WYUR.

This is the first time I heard this signoff by Ken since I heard it live in 1996. Thank you for posting the link. In addition to the Milner stations, he also delivered reports from Total Traffic Network on several Chicago radio stations.
Ken's voice was clear and recognizable, across every decade he was on the air. I met him once; did not know him personally, but having listened to him for so many years, I feel as if I did.
