John Schriffen Looks Ahead to a More Confident Year #2 with the White Sox...

If you have the ESPN-powered SEC Network like I do, you can actually see & hear him call the matchup between #15 Mississippi State & #1 Auburn with analyst Ron Slay on the college hardwood at 6P (CT). Then, he & Daymond Fishback will have the call of Auburn's SEC matchup at #23 Georgia at Noon (CT) Saturday, also on SECN. DIRECTV subscribers can find SECN on Channel 611.
It won't be much longer before John Schriffen trades in basketball on ESPN's family of networks for a baseball, microphone & headset for his second season as the principal TV voice of Chicago White Sox baseball. This season, Schriffen, Steve Stone & occasionally Gordon Beckham will follow the Sox to their new TV home on CHSN like the Bulls & Blackhawks already have.
While it's still unclear if Chicago Sports Network & Comcast/Xfinity will finally reach a carriage deal, Schriffen is more confident & seems to have more gratitude as he prepares for what he hopes will be a much better 2nd season behind the mic than his 1st.
Needless to say, there wasn't much for Schriffen, Stone & Beckham to cheer about last summer as the Sox lost an MLB record 121 games.
As Schriffen told MLB.com's Scott Merkin, he acknowledged his mistakes in his first season and took all the criticism too personally.
Schriffen had more to say as he looks forward to his 2nd season in the White Sox TV booth and also mentioned some words of wisdom from University of Kentucky Men's Head Basketball Coach Mark Pope.
