Polnet Communications Ltd. (“Polnet”), licensee of Station WRDZ(AM), hereby notifies the Commission that on December 17, 2024, the transmitter became inoperable, and the station was forced to suspend operations. If the transmitter is not repaired or replaced within the 30-day period, Polnet will request Special Temporary Authority to remain silent.
You mean they might have blew up the transmitter trying that JOKE of an antenna setup they applied with the FCC a few months ago and we were ridiculing here? NO WAY!!!!!! Lol. Hope they were using a genuine BIRD meter and other professional equipment to check reflected power, etc. In all seriousness, the likelihood of the transmitted power reflected back into the shack and transmitter itself was guaranteed with that setup.
Let me link back for those that forgot or want to revisit the fine discussion we had in the past over this. Also the "non auto cad" generated antenna plan image is below, which was submitted to the FCC, link is in the original post.
PhilJSmith.... I patiently await your comments on this disaster.
“hereby notifies the Commission that on December 17, 2024” …
A future date to those of us in our fixed timeline, I ponder if they powered up the transmitter into their Erector Set antenna structure, and the 99:1 SWR wormholed them into mid December?
FWIW this outcome is of no surprise to me. I don’t know what the Vegas line is on 1300 returning to the air in the Chicago area, but I’ll go all-in on “never.”
