To say it's been a DISASTER for the new Chicago Sports Network would be an understatement. In addition to the Bulls & Blackhawks continuing their losing ways, CHSN still hasn't been able to secure carriage deals with Xfinity and other Chicago area cable systems 1 month into its launch as the replacement for NBC Sports Chicago.
While CHSN & Xfinity in particular remains stalled, the new TV home of the Bulls, Hawks & White Sox will soon go ahead with its Direct to Consumer option. That's the word from the Sun-Times' Jeff Agrest.
Xfinity customers may have noticed a credit on their cable bill as a result of NBCSC no longer available.
It's believed CHSN will have more details in the coming days in regards to price & programming when the DTC is officially announced.
CHSN currently has deals with DIRECTV Satellite & DIRECTV Stream, along with RCN/Astound & signed a deal about 2 weeks ago with Fubo TV to carry the channel there.

A brief update to the story. The Sun-Times' Jeff Agrest says that Emails to Bulls & Blackhawks' fans have gone out regarding CHSN's Direct to Consumer service.
Agrest says that customers will start receiving free access as soon as Friday. Full season ticket holders will have free access on Web browsers & mobile apps (iOS & Android) for the rest of the regular season.
I don't know if this is exactly what CHSN had in mind regarding its app and its related cost. Here is everything you need to know about the new CHSN app that launches Friday:
