103.1 WCSJ-FM Morris. Is the AM still on the air?

I was in the SW area. The 103.1 WCSJ-FM single is terrible in Joliet mixing with WPNA. Also they have this horrific DC Hum when doing the news casts. Slam into the middle of a song after the news brief ends. (Classy sounding). They edited out the AM (very badly) from the top hour ID.

I thought the AM was moving to Plano or Sandwich at a lower power? Anyone local to the area can confirm? Thanks.

1550 is now WAUR Somonauk with a Country format. Diplexed with 1480

I live here in Morris. It is a second rate run operation. Studio is super dated. Nothing new. Professionalism is minimal. Old folks get their info from it. That's about it.

Don't know about the AM.

Thanks for sharing that aircheck. It was a gift for my 16th birthday. A drive down to Joliet to record it.

Was recorded in a McDonalds parking lot, forgot exactly where. Just barely inside the coverage area.

Awesome Jeremy. I did not know it was yours.

You probably were @ the McDonald's across Louis Joliet Mall on Plainfield Rd. The signal has changed so much since then. When Nelson bought it from BCR, they aimed it away from WPNA. The signal in that area is sub acceptable, at best.

For some reason I thought they changed it to Moo Dance before it was sold. Maybe I dreamed that up

Party 103.1 went on the air because Highland Park was sold to what is now Univision. They didn't want Morris. It ended up being Big City Radio's last radio station and they needed to program it with something.

They got one more naming C&D from the owners of Party 93.1 in Decatur and went by simply "103.1" until it went off in the late summer

Z92, it was Party 103.1, themed as being broadcast to the cows in farm fields. This was further cemented when Jeffrey T Mason ran a "shift" of variety music on Party 103.1 WYXX, further pushing the theme. One day I need to scope the air check of his shift and post it. If there were a few more hours per day........

Not sure who it was, someone online took it to the next level and launched a format called "MooDance" @ moodance.com I tuned in a few times, it was nothing like WYXX or Energy and I never tuned back in. It seemed to have a rabid following, people loved it. Who am I to say otherwise?
