Interesting in both WBBM-AM 780 and WDRV-FM 97.1 are tied for number one. With the election coming up, I believe WBBM-AM 780 will see an uptick in their ratings.
WXRT-FM 93.1 rose from a 4.8 to a 5.0. This legendary station continues to have a loyal fan base. A personal note: I really wish Audacy didn't own WXRT-FM. This station would do well with a stronger owner. I'm curious as to how much 'XRT bills. Just this station, not the Chicago cluster. Audacy is a house with a leaking roof and no foundation.
WLIT-FM seems to be in a freefall. Take a look.... 6.6 to 5.9 to 5.3 to 4.7. It's time to ditch the harder songs and go back to your core programming. They seemed to be musically confused. It sounds like Adult Hits, Hot AC, Classic Rock and who the hell knows what else. Fear not, Christmas music will pull their nuts out of the fire and they can make adjustments come January 2025. But, why wait? Their experiment has failed. One radio station cannot be all things to all people.
WLS-FM 94.7 continues to gain traction with a 4.6.
WUSN-FM 99.5 took it in the teeth. Did people suddenly turn off country music? 5.1 to 4.0 to 4.7 to 3.8.
WKSC-FM 103.5 rose to a 2.6. WBBM-FM 96.3 brings up the rear with a 2.1. It's not a huge gap, however, I doubt B96 will ever be a player in Chicago again.
WCHI-FM 95.5 rose slightly to a 2.5 from a 2.2. This is as good as it gets. This station is stuck in the 2's and they have been around long enough to perform better. I know, it's part of the iHeartMedia cluster, and this is how it's sold to advertisers. They likely hit their demos.
WTMX-FM 101.9 What happened to this station? It used to be a powerhouse. Take a look...3.2 to 3.0 to 2.6 to 2.3!! What are they doing over there?
WTBC-FM 100.3 has a rating of 1.7 from 1.9. No chance of them overtaking sister WTMX-FM.
WLS-AM 890 comes in with a 1.4. This, too, was once a powerhouse station.
WRME-LD 87.7 ranks with a 3.3. There is an audience for this music. I'm wondering if disgusted WLIT-FM listeners have made the switch here.
WLIT should probably get rid of Rihanna, Aerosmith, Alanis Morissette, Prince, Queen, uptempo Michael Jackson, Wham! that is not Careless Whisper, Bon Jovi, and all that kinda stuff and play "Relaxing Favorites"
I figured it might have been a demo thing. Maybe they were trying to reach younger demos but it's been dropping 7 months in a row 25-54 as well.
Chicago likes things it knows. WLIT was always a Soft AC station. For years. They should be capitalizing on that heritage. They were seemingly doing really good at it in recent years.
